Methanol based fuel cells used off-grid in the very cold FeaturedWritten by Super User
Sirius Integrator has one of the few and absolutely the best quality outdoor very cold fuel cell enclosures available for deployments in the harsh extreme cold. Our SiriusPower Very Cold Enclosure is operating successfully down to -50c temperatures with EFOY Pro DMFC (Direct Methanol fuel cell) Systems. EFOY Pros are the most mature of all fuel cell systems on the market with over 30,000 sold worldwide. We've been selling them for about six years in North America.
Our normal temperature SiriusPower 'SFC approved' enclosure is good for down to -15c but we suggest using the very cold enclosure for environments where outdoor temperatures are colder. We uniquely have been collecting exhaust water inside our very cold enclosure to ensure that the exhaust will not freeze and stop the EFOY Pro from running. The enclosure is UL/CUL certified, is an industrial made system with thermostat based fans, large mounting feet, space for 56 liters (2 cartridges) of methanol & two large batteries, and snow snorkel flanges for 'air in' and 'air out' vents. We minimize air space inside and utilize the EFOY Pro's heat to ensure a successful deployment. There are several in the field working well in these harsh outdoor remote locations. The very cold enclosures are special ordered as 12v or 24v models and take from six to eight weeks to manufacture for our customers, so advanced planning is needed to ensure your deployment timelines are not delayed. If you would like four M28 fuel cartridges (120 liters) to be deployed, we could customize your enclosure to suit that requirement.
